Gill & Susie’s Paintings Come to Life

It was raining on Waiheke Island on Gill and Susie’s day two. Even damp weather didn’t slow them down from looking for more than meets the eye.
As the rain fell we sat with our coffees and savory scones watching Gary Reef demonstrate how he creates water effects on plexiglass followed by a short but sweet explanation about gels that we use in this class by Patti Brady from Golden.

I will be interested to hear what the ladies have to say about the small class size. It is such a pleasure working with only two people. It gives me time to take pictures of artists at work.

Check out their paintings at the end of day two.

About waiheke getaway art workshops

I am an ex-pat american living on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. I am a mixed media artist who has developed a luscious lifestyle that combines painting with seasonal veggie garden, cooking, walking, drinking wine and conversations with creative people.
